Who are the eligible pilgrims for Hajj 2022

Who are the eligible pilgrims for Hajj 2022?

According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah report, 1 million pilgrims will perform Hajj in 2022. It will consist of one million national and international pilgrims. This time Muslims from every country can participate in the annual Hajj. Before starting Hajj, you should know “Who are the eligible pilgrims for Hajj 2022?”

Before December 2019, there was no mention of eligible or ineligible. But now this point is especially valuable for those who are planning to perform Hajj this year. The Saudi government has announced a figure of one million for the health and safety of individuals this year. All the points that will make you eligible or ineligible for Hajj 2022 are discussed in depth here.

Therefore, before booking Hajj Packages 2022, read all the Hajj points under discussion.

Eligible Points of Hajj:

  • Age
  • PCR
  • Hajj Visa
  • COVID 19 Vaccine

Age:

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that people under the age of 65 can perform Hajj. You are ineligible if your age exceeds “2 or 4 days” under 65. Therefore, your current age should be less than 65 years, if yes then you are eligible.

Some of you may be wondering why Saudi Arabia lifted the age limit for Umrah in Ramadan 2022? The reason for lifting the ban was to allow most pilgrims to perform Umrah during Ramadan. Performing Umrah in this holy month is equivalent to Hajj, as is proved by various Hadiths.

Hajj worship lasts for 5 days and this flock of 1 million pilgrims will go from one place to another. However, Umrah pilgrims do not need to go outside the Masjid al-Haram to perform ‘Umrah‘ other than entering the ihram. Therefore, the Saudi government had easily handled the number of Umrah pilgrims. One pilgrim has to move from one place to another as well as perform various rituals while Hajj.

PCR:

The Saudi government had announced that no one needs a medical test for Umrah, but this Hajj is not valid for 2022. PCR is a medical test to find COVID 19 attacks. PCR stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction, a chain reaction that helps medical analysts analyze upper respiratory specimens and COVID viruses.

Now a pilgrim does not need any ACWY vaccine and medical certification for meningitis other than PCR certification. You must have to get a negative PCR test report within 72 hours of departure otherwise you will be ineligible.

This limit will start at 72 hours according to your departure period. If your flight time is 8 pm, Friday, your working hours will start at 8 pm on Tuesdays in the same week.

Hajj Visa:

The Saudi Ministry clarified that the designated visa is only acceptable for Hajj, which is a Hajj visa. People can perform Umrah on different Saudi visas but this permission is not for Hajj. Some people are looking, can we do Hajj with a visit visa? Such efforts are not worthwhile because you can do Umrah with a visit visa but not the annual pilgrimage.

The Saudi government insists that every pilgrim must confirm whether or not their Hajj visa is included in the Hajj package 2022. If an agency or tour company books your Hajj but fails to provide the Hajj package, then it is a scam. Therefore, it is important to check the ATOL number of your respective travel agency.

COVID 19 Vaccine:

According to a cautious estimate 3rd of the world’s population has been vaccinated against COVID 19. Medical experts instruct each of us to complete a course of vaccines without any age difference. There are different vaccines on the market, but you should choose one approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health to get the COVID 19 vaccine.

These are recommended vaccines according to Saudi Arabia:

• Sinopharm
• Sinovac
• Covaxin
• Sputnik V
• Pfizer/BioNTech. 2 doses
• Oxford/AstraZeneca: 2 doses
• Janssen. 2 doses
• Moderna. 2 doses
• Sinopharm + 1 dose of any of the above vaccines
• Sinovac + 1 dose of 1 of any of the above vaccines

Pilgrims who meet the above mentioned Hajj points are eligible for Hajj 2022.

Overview of Hajj Points:

No pilgrim should be more than 65 years of age. It is acceptable to get and present a negative PCR test report within 72 hours of departure. Do not take any visa other than a Hajj visa. Pilgrims who have been fully vaccinated can perform Hajj and only select the recommended vaccine.

May Allah help us and grant us success in Hajj 2022. Amen
